Terms of Service.

These terms are an agreement between you and Noble Partners LLC (“Chirp,” “we,” “us”), the operator of the Chirp app and of chirpbudget.com (together, the “service”). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

The short version: Chirp is a paid subscription, $9.99/month or $89.99/year after a 7-day trial, billed and refunded by Apple. The entries you log are yours, and we use them only to run the service for you. Chirp keeps a record; it does not give financial advice. You can delete your account, and everything under it, from Settings at any time.

The complete terms follow. Each section expands in place, and every word of it is on this page for anyone reading the source.

1. Agreement to these terms

You must be able to form a binding contract to accept these terms. If you downloaded Chirp from the App Store, Apple’s standard licensed application terms also apply to your use of the app; where they conflict with these terms, these terms govern the relationship between you and us, and Apple’s terms govern the relationship between you and Apple.

2. Your account

You must be at least 13 years old to use Chirp, and if you are under 18 you may use it only with a parent or guardian’s permission. You sign in with Sign in with Apple; you are responsible for keeping that sign-in method secure and for activity under your account. One account is for one person. You can delete your account at any time from Settings inside the app, which removes your account and the record stored under it, as described in the Privacy Policy.

3. Subscriptions, trial and billing

Chirp is a paid subscription: $9.99/month or $89.99/year, after a free trial of 7 days. Prices may vary by region and are shown in the App Store before you subscribe.

  • Billing is handled by Apple. All purchases are made through your App Store account. We never see or store your payment details.
  • The trial converts automatically. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, your subscription begins and Apple charges the price you selected.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically. Your subscription renews at the end of each period, and Apple charges your account within 24 hours before renewal, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends.
  • Cancel any time through Apple. Manage or cancel in your device’s Settings under your Apple account’s subscriptions, or in the App Store app. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple under App Store policy; we cannot issue them directly. Cancelling stops future renewals but does not refund the current period.
  • If a price changes, Apple will notify you in advance and, where required, ask for your consent before the new price applies.
4. Acceptable use

Chirp is for tracking your own personal spending. You agree not to:

  • use the service in violation of any law, or to store content you have no right to store;
  • probe, disable, overload, or interfere with the service or its security features;
  • access the service by any automated means, or attempt to extract its source, models, or prompts;
  • resell the service, share an account, or misrepresent your identity to us;
  • use the service to build a competing product.

We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these terms.

5. Your content

The entries you log (your transactions, budgets, goals, and notes) are yours. You grant us a limited license to host, process, and transmit that content solely to operate the service for you: to turn what you say or type into draft entries, to store your record against your account, and to sync it between your devices. This license ends when you delete the content or your account, except for residual copies in backups that expire on their own schedule. We do not use the content of your record to train AI models, and we do not sell it. The Privacy Policy describes exactly who processes your data and why.

6. Chirp is a record-keeping tool, not advice

Chirp helps you keep a record of your own spending. It is not a financial institution and does not provide financial, tax, investment, accounting, or legal advice. Nothing in the app (categories, budgets, summaries, or any generated text) is a recommendation to make any financial decision. Entries are drafted by AI from what you say or type and can be wrong; you review and approve every entry, and your record is only as accurate as what you approve. Do not rely on Chirp as your sole record for tax, legal, or accounting purposes.

7. Disclaimers

The service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that transcriptions and extracted entries will be accurate. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Noble Partners LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or loss of goodwill, arising out of or relating to the service, even if we have been advised such damages are possible. Our total liability for all claims relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose, or one hundred dollars, whichever is greater. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations, so they apply to you only to the extent your local law permits.

9. Termination

You can stop using Chirp and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these terms, if we are required to by law, or if we discontinue the service; if we discontinue the service while you have an active subscription, we will tell you in advance and you can seek a pro-rata refund from Apple. Sections 5 through 11 survive termination.

10. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the state in which Noble Partners LLC is organized and the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Before filing a claim, contact us through the support page; most issues can be resolved that way. Any dispute that cannot be will be brought in the state or federal courts of that state, and you and we each consent to their jurisdiction.

11. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we will post the new version here and update the date at the top. For material changes we will tell you in the app before they take effect. Continued use of the service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.

12. Contact

Questions about these terms go through the support page. Chirp is operated by Noble Partners LLC in the United States.
